Kiwi Mint Smoothies
The husband loves to jog in the morning and for my sanity and his, I advocate strongly for his little centering activity. But when he comes back in the morning, often times he’s more in the mood for a smoothie than a heavier breakfast. This smoothie is refreshing after a morning asana, jog, or however you find peace in the morning.
I used an heirloom organic orange, coconut milk, kiwi, and mint; but smoothies are basically about what you have on hand. I like to spice mine up with the addition of ginger or turmeric. Mint has been used as a remedy for digestive problems and stomach cramps for centuries. It’s also a natural diuretic and has been used to relieve IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and colitis.
And kiwi has more vitamin C than an orange. Vitamin C is loaded with antioxidants that block some of the damage caused by free radicals. The buildup of free radicals over time is largely responsible for the aging process. Free radicals may play a role in cancer, heart disease, and conditions like arthritis.
