5 Ways to Combat Health Anxiety

This one hits close to home. I’m a health writer. It’s what I do for a living everyday. I eat, breathe, live, and love this stuff. And it’s hard to shut it off because everyone of my friends asks me questions about it. But at the same time a health addiction is like any other addiction and if you’re not careful it can lead to anxiety.
I’m a huge fan of musician Brett Dennen’s perspective on healthy living.
“I eat very healthy. Ninety percent healthy. The other ten percent of the time I allow myself to indulge; but for the most part, I’m healthy. I consume lots of raw foods and when I eat cooked foods, they tend to be whole foods: vegetables, sea veggies and quinoa. I am pretty much a vegetarian, except for seafood. I love sushi! I love oysters!”
It’s about avoiding extremes and Dennen does a great job of it. Just like every other part of your life, try and chill out. Stick to your ideals, but don’t obsess. It’s not healthy, for lack of a better term.
