Friday Foods Finds: Vegan Mayo and Movie Theater Popcorn

Vegans listen up, I’ve found mayonnaise worth stopping in the aisle for. Even if you’re not a vegan, you may be looking for a healthier version of traditional bliss. I’ve tried many a vegan mayo in the past that left me with no other choice but to throw the remains of the jar away or try unsuccessfully to mask the flavor with spices and dijon mustard. Well, my friends, that time has passed. Enter this Friday’s Food Finds starting with mayo.

1. Follow your Heart Grapeseed Vegenaise

Vegenaise is egg-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, and delish. It’s made with grapeseed oil, brown rice syrup, apple cider vinegar, non-gmo soy protein, sea salt, and lemon juice. It’s not something I would eat in excess, but when you’re in need of mayo for a vegan recipe, it’s a good choice.

2. Bulk Popcorn

When the whole foods diet entered the picture, microwave popcorn had to exit. I have to admit I missed it, I remember in the fat-free days of the 80’s everyone ate microwave popcorn by the boat loads. While I’m certainly over that nonsense, I do miss popcorn. I found popcorn in bulk at my local health foods store for less than $2 per pound. That’s a steal of a deal. I just cook it on the stovetop with a tablespoon of olive oil, some Nama Shoyu, and I’m movie-ready.

3. Zhena’s Gypsy Tea

Zhena’s boasts that it’s infused with health and happiness. I’ll take it. This is a high quality, Fair Trade, organic tea. I’m a fan of the variety pack which includes Italian Chamomile, Ambrosia Plum, Egyptian Mint Green Tea, and Raspberry Earl Black Tea.

Have a good weekend and enjoy the deliciousness that is your life!
