Ch Ch Chia: The Super Seed

If you were alive during the 80’s then you likely remember the chia plant. Those little seeds could sprout out of just about anything. Ch ch chia–the commercials would sound. Fast forward 25 years to last year when I read the book Born to Run. The book referenced a superfood called the chia seed, a seed that I had formerly never heard of beyond those little clay plants, but curiosity took the wheel.
Chia seeds are loaded with Omega Fatty Acids as well as fiber, iron, zinc, and protein. Chia seeds were used as an ancient energy enhancing super drink for the Tarahumara Indians, hidden in the rugged valleys of the Sierra Madre Mountains in the Mexican state of Chihuahua.
One of my favorte vegan chefs, Christina Pirello recently talked about chia seeds and I just had to show you. If you’’re interested in the benefits of raw nuts and seeds in your life, it’s time to welcome the chia seed.

I can’t see the video right now since I am at work, but I have been wondering lately how much chia one should ingest to be able to see the energy enhancing benefits. I eat about two tablespoons worth in the morning with my yogurt and haven’t noticed any real difference. Have you seen this info anywhere? Thanks!
Have you sprouted them?
No, any advice?
